π‘ Electric Lights 2.1.3 — Power Your Base the Smart Way
This update introduces a new wired light source, smooths out the interface, and delivers another big wave of fixes and polish.
Itβs a small but satisfying upgrade, especially for players with large, established bases.
β‘ New Machine: Electric Light
No more battery juggling!
The new Electric Light connects directly to your power grid, giving you permanent lighting for your base.
- Powered through wires instead of batteries
- 50% larger light radius than the BatteryLight
- Consumes three times more energy
- Requires BatteryLight and CircuitBoard Research
To help distinguish them:
all BatteryLight visuals (Item, Machine, Research) are now green,
while the ElectricLight variants use a blue tint.
π₯οΈ Interface Improvements
A few small but nice usability upgrades:
- Savegames** are now sorted by date, newest first
- The mouse wheel can now scroll through savegames
π§° Fixes and Adjustments
This version also includes a wide range of bug fixes and minor polish changes:
- BatteryLights now instantly recalculate their light duration when adding or removing batteries
- Steel Processing Research now correctly updates the MetalWorker to produce Steel Rods instead of Ingots
- AutoSaves** during teleportation no longer delete light sources or cause load issues
- Fixed the Machine Item Overlay for Steel Scrap Recycling on Smelters
- Fixed a crash when removing a Capacitor
- Shift-clicking in the Research Lab now transfers the correct item
- Fixed a visual shadow glitch
- The Research Lab now properly recognizes shift-inserted items
- The Detail Window no longer appears on undiscovered tiles
- The pickaxe cursor no longer shows outside your visible range

Your bases can finally stay bright without babysitting batteries.
Next on the list: giving midgame defenses some love, new wire-powered turrets and a rethink of those old energy-free towers.
